Giving Back: The Perth Polar Bear Plunge
Raven Rae Resilience is proud to support the Perth Polar Bear Plunge, an annual community tradition founded in 1993 Perth Ontaio, Canada and hosted by our President, David T. Lavery. Every year, David and the RRR team contribute time, energy, and financial support to this event, which raises funds for meaningful causes and brings people together in the spirit of resilience and giving.
Supporting Family Entrepreneurship: CoCaBee
Beyond global operations and community events, Raven Rae Resilience also champions entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. Our President, David T. Lavery, proudly supports his daughter’s company CoCaBee, a Canadian start-up focused on organic, sustainable lip balms and skincare products.
Through financial support, mentorship, and active promotion, David continues to invest in CoCaBee’s growth and mission. This reflects our belief that resilience also means fostering innovation, sustainability, and self-reliance within our own communities and families.
By supporting small, women-led businesses like CoCaBee, RRR demonstrates that CSR is not limited to corporate programs, but is also about empowering individuals to pursue meaningful, eco-friendly ventures.
Supporting Animal Welfare and Health: Nowzad & Zwan Family Charity
In 2014, RRR hosted the Nowzad Charity Doggy 24 Hour Marathon Run/Walk in Kabul, with David Lavery completing the solo marathon to raise funds for Nowzad Dogs Animal Shelter Afghanistan. Over 70% of entry fees went directly to Nowzad’s operations, supporting their mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for animals in Afghanistan.
Humanitarian Support: Zwan Family Charity
RRR partnered with Zwan Family Charity to deliver high-impact humanitarian aid in Kabul. David led ultra-marathons, including the ‘Keep Qambar Warm’ 24-hour run, raising funds to purchase and distribute over 1,000 tarpaulins for displaced families in the Qambar IDP Camp, PD5 Kabul. These tarps were later handed out directly to families, with RRR staff supporting logistics, security, and event management. RRR also co-organized fundraisers with Zwan to raise money for two Afghan sisters, Deba and Nageena, suffering from Thalassemia, aiming to secure $100,000 for bone marrow transplants. RRR also supported vaccine and flu-shot programs for underprivileged communities, helping provide critical healthcare access in Kabul.
